I believe therapy should provide impactful change, so I don’t let clients stay in the same place for very long. Through talk therapy and/or animal-assisted therapy, we’ll identify what is and isn’t working in what you’re already doing, devise a plan for what you want and put it into action right away.

Are you an adult looking for a therapist who sees you as a whole person - body, mind, and spirit? Or maybe you’re searching for the right therapist for your child and looking for someone who will let them be a child through play even in therapy. If either of these things are what you’re looking for, let’s talk!

As a holistic therapist, I believe a person is more than just a mental health condition. I work with adults to understand their whole beings, considering things like nutrition, spirituality, and lifestyle. I also believe in the power of play. As a Registered Play Therapist, I let the child lead and communicate through playing and being a kid while partnering with parents every step of the way.

If this sounds like what you’re looking for, you can select your appointment below or email me here. Reach out today and let’s work together to consider the wellness of your whole being.

As a child and family therapist, and a father of three young daughters, Tom (“Tall Tom”) deeply understands that the journey of parenthood, while incredibly rewarding, is also often paved with unique challenges and significant pain points. Tom utilizes a strengths based approach to find what balances out the things that you want to work on most in therapy.

Upon meeting the families he works with, one of Tom’s greatest sayings is that the parents are the experts on their child, he is the expert on therapy, and the combination of both in session creates the expert that work together to better your family.

Tom Macalik obtained a Masters in Counseling from the University of North Texas in Denton in 2016, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. He looks forward to meeting you.

I believe therapy should feel like a safe, genuine space where you can show up exactly as you are- big feelings, messy thoughts, all of it! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas, passionate about helping people grow, heal and better understand themselves without pressure to be perfect. I love working with kids, teens, and adults too! I am particularly drawn to kids and teens struggling with suicidal ideation and self-harm who feel lost. Sometimes we just feel “stuck” or overwhelmed and need someone to come alongside us to recalculate.

After earning my Master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Human Services Counseling, I began my work in the helping profession in 2023. I am a mom of three who loves the outdoors, ice cream, travel, and meaningful conversation. My counseling style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative and I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and client-centered techniques to help clients find a new groove. Emotional regulation, self-awareness, and discovering new coping skills are a big deal to me. I believe that growth happens when you feel seen, heard, and valued as a person with purpose.
